THe 7 articles of the constitution
The Articles of the Constitution are there to define, give powers to, and qualify the different parts of federal government. They play a HUGE role in what and what not a specific piece of government can do. There are 7 of them.
Article I- the legislative branch
Article 1 of the United States Constitution describes the powers and limitations of the legislative branch, such as who gets to declare war, who can veto the president, and other things. A lot of these things are from the people of America's point of view.
Article ii- The executive branch
This Article creates and maintains the executive branch. The President, the Vice President, and the Cabinet members are all part of the Executive Branch.
Article iii- The judicial branch
The judicial branch of the United States is set up by Article III. It describes the federal, state, and local court systems and their powers.
Article iv- state relations
The way relationships and transactions work between states is stated in this article. Certain policies are maintained.
Article v- Amending the constitution
A rather long process for amending the Constitution is provided in this article.
Article vi- Supremacy rule
This article states that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and that everyone is bound by it.
article 7- ratification
The Constitution set sail!
Article 7, the last one, says that if 9 out of the (at the time) 13 states gave approval, the Constitution of the United States would be ratified and would be set to action.
